The modest Yellow Eye Mullet is building its reputation as a well rounded lunch or dinner guest. Its white, sweet flesh is a good source of omega3 oil; ideal for a range of preparation techniques and styles from barbecuing to baking.

Provenance


Typically found along sheltered sandy beaches, the West Coast, Lower Spencer Gulf, Gulf St Vincent and of course the beautiful Coorong in the State’s south-east are key producing regions.

SEAsonality


Traditionally, this schooling species exhibits all year round availability. Production peaks in Summer and Autumn with key months being November, February with May and September the lowest. Production can vary due to migratory patterns strongly influenced by environmental conditions.
